Donair Details - If it's worth doing, it's worth doing well

Great restaurant quality food starts with the best ingredients! The picture above shows a 42 gram bag of Angelino Donair Seasoning, and the dark orange to redish brown colour of our secret recipe of 9 herbs and spices.

For over 20 years this exact donair spice blend has been used by pizza, sub and donair shops in Atlantic Canada, where the donair started and is still known for having the best tasting donairs. Now you too can easily turn ground beef into the same deliciously spicy donairs at home.

At most restaurants 10 large donairs will set you back $75 to $90, $7.50 to $9.00 per donair, tax included. Compare this at supermarkets to only $18 to $20, $1.80 to $2.00 per donair, for 5 lbs. of medium ground beef, 10 pita bread, tomato and onion, donair sauce ingredients and a 42 g bag of Angelino Donair Seasoning. Save 73% to 80%, plus save your gas & tip!

Ingredients: Spices, Herbs, dextrose, corn flour, chicken fat (includes soybean oil), sugar, corn syrup solids, dehydrated onion and garlic, dehydrated cane mill molasses, colour and flavour. Contains no msg!

Sprinkle seasoning over 2.27 kg (5 lbs) of ground beef, knead thoroughly by hand. Form 5 equal donair meat loaves on a broiler plate, cook fully at 177 C (350 F) for 60 to 75 mins. Eat right away or refrigerate / freeze until needed.

Fixins: Pita bread or sub buns, 370 ml can of regular evaporated milk, 175 ml (3/4 cup) of white sugar, 45 ml (3 tbsp) of white vinegar, diced tomato and diced onion.
Donair Sauce: Mix canned milk (regular, not 2% or skim) and sugar in a bowl until sugar is dissolved fully. Slowly whisk in vinegar until sauce thickens. For thicker sauce, refrigerate canned milk first for one hour.

Prepare Two Large Donairs: Thinly slice one donair meat loaf completely, heat on low in a frying pan until desired crispness, and cover with 2 pitas to heat and soften bread. Place On Pitas: Donair sauce, veggies, sliced donair meat and more donair sauce. Enjoy!

Donair Meat is also excellent as:

Donair Subs:
Use sub buns instead of pita bread, and donair sauce instead of mayonaise. Add veggies (tomato and onion, lettuce), add 1/2 of a heated / sliced Angelino Donair seasoned meat loaf, add mozzarella cheese. Heat in the oven or microwave to desired crispness and to melt the cheese. Top off cooked donair sub with more donair sauce and enjoy!

Donair Pizza: Press dough into large pizza pan and use donair sauce instead of tomato sauce. Add one fully sliced Angelino Donair seasoned meat loaf, add veggies (tomato and onion), add mozzarella cheese. Top off your cooked donair pizza with more donair sauce and enjoy!
